Does it suck writing about this? Yes! It's been a huge ball of question marks. This past Sunday Kobe Bryant passed away. Talk about unbelievable news. I had just awaken from a nap after a long weekend in Vegas. Fresh from the spa. Feeling great. Then boom! All that gone! I couldn't even truly talk. I went into the kitchen to tell my lady and my lips moved but no words came out. She said "huh?" 3x. I had to stop, swallow, breath and then try again. "-ob- died." She looks at my annoyed "What are you saying?!" "Kobe Bryant died babe!" I finally jutted out. It took hella energy from just to say it, so I had to sit down. Like many others, this human being wasn't just any human being to me. NBA Live '96, NBA Courtside 2000, NBA 2k3-20. The reason my Pistons don't have back to back titles. The reason why the Suns, made up of Shawn Marion, Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire never got their championship. Lastly, the reason why from 2003 till 2016, if the Lakers went up against, Carmello Anthony, Dwayne Wade or Lebron James I knew to expect one hell of a game.
I won't even touch on the "Mamba Mentality".
What I will touch on is Shaq. Shaq shared a word for about 7 minutes. But he ended that monologue with some of the most devestating news. The last time he spoke to Kobe was before Kobe's final game. This is when he told him I bet you won't get 50 points tonight. Kobe gave him 60. Look....the idea or image of not talking to someone off the fact of taking someone's presence for granted is over. I'd be damned if I think to not speak to my family or friends for an extended period of time. Like that thought of not speaking to one of your closest boys for an extended time and then all of a sudden not ever being afford the opportunity to speak to that person ever again is crucial. You just robbed your self of missed time. Smiles, laughs, and endless moments. Never will I take for granted those moments and opportunities that can, could and should be made.
2020 is taking no prisoners. Take advantage of it.

I was absolutely shocked by the news too, I don’t think the nation has had this devastating of news in a long time. I was never a Lakers fan, but it was hard NOT to be a Kobe fan, especially when I started watching the NBA around the time he was drafted into the league. He still remains a house hold name and I will forever yell ”Kobe” before throwing a paper ball of trash in the direction of a trash can. Absolutely a top competitor and inspiration to many that will be missed, and also a life lesson that no one is invincible even the greatest so cherish your time with others while you can. Great message in this…
